Web Hosting and Setup
Bluehost is the web hosting company I use for most websites for pet sitters and other small businesses. Their admin area uses C-panel, which is fairly easy to get around in. And, their $6.95 plan allows for multiple websites to be hosted on the same account at no additional fee. Most of the websites and blogs I set up for pet sitters are done through Bluehost. This is my first choice for website hosting.
GoDaddy offers web hosting, template-based websites, domain hosting and more. I recommend GoDaddy for domain registration. Their domain registration pricing is inexpensive and I like their domain management system.
HostGator offers shared, reseller, VPS, and dedicated server packages for both beginners and professionals alike. I haven’t used HostGator, but I know many people who do and are pleased with their services.
The Thesis theme for WordPress is used with WordPress to set up a blog and/or website. It includes built in SEO, incredible design flexibility, and lightning-fast loading times. It also provides website owners with an interface to make changes on their own rather than having to call on a web designer. I use this for nearly all of the pet sitter websites I design for pet sitter websites.
